new work

Summer is coming to a end, and that always makes me somewhat sad, and yet looking forward to a cosy time in the studio. Just a few paintings from the last few months.

Teaching a class at the Tactile Center on Aug 15th. We will make little images that we run through a press. These are great for gifts, or as greeting cards. If you are interested in taking the class send me a note! Should be fun.

Show at Dry Ice Factory

"Diversified Pportfolio" is the new show at the Dry Ice Factory. This is the vessel I made for the show. Somewhat larger than any vessels I have attempted before. You can also see the beautiful paintings of Carol Browning.

All Colorado Show

The Curtis Art Center has a nice gallery and right now is showing the "All Colorado Show" This is  the piece that was excepted into the show. 

Pairing

Finished the pairing for the Alzheimer's auction. It's a more fun project then just donating a piece of work, so instead I get to pick a painting done by one of the Alzheimer's patients and I do a painting to pair with it. Here is "Delicious" by Ilma Cumming, and then "Always Delicious" that I painted.

International Fiber Show

This is the piece that was juried into the Fiber Celebration 2009, that is this year at the Loveland Art Musuem. Show opens Sat. May 30th- Always a great show, it is amazing to see how fiber can be used!

End of the Month

The good thing about the end of each month and getting ready for being open for a 1st Friday is discovering  what you actually did get done during the last month. This can be revealing for me. So okay....this is it, the last things to be added to that list.

May....almost June!

I was shocked to realized that it had been a month since taking time to blog. This makes me even more aware of how fast things are moving.....wow. Well in the past month I have had a quick trip to NYC, always a fun and inspiring place to visit. Made it to the new Museum of Art and Design, now on Columbus Circle. Great glass exhibit, and the collection of art jewelry is FAB! Then a great home tour in Brooklyn, which ended a block from the home my grandfather owned. The studio has been a busy place...with open times for view....but now a few weeks to just work. New dress painting done, a new cast made and drying...covered a chair...must be more?

short trip

Took a short trip San Antonio, love seeing somewhere new, and while it was 30 degrees at home...I was enjoying the warm weather, green grass, trees with leaves. Stayed on the River Walk and took some shots of the river! Love those patterns.

Group Show at Dry Ice Factory

Well we are having the first resident show at DIF. With over 20 of us in the building it is great to see what people are doing. Here are a few shots of my work there.

Grand Opening of the Dry Ice Factory Studios

Grand Opening was Friday night! It was a unbleivable crowd, and so much fun. The building has such a great energy to it. Here is a pic of me with other artists from the RINO art district!!

Something new

Working on changing it up a bit. Trying something new. This is going to be a dress series. So did a small trial one and then this larger piece. Need to live with it for awhile...but ready to do this in red!

Opening was fun! Decent crowd....lots of friends....best part is catching up with them.

Up Coming Show

Worked late last night to hang show at Square 101 Gallery. Here is one shot from the gallery. Still have one piece to finish before the opening on Friday!!! Yikes

Well it has been a long week of unpacking. I started working today to finish a piece for a up coming show, and that was just a exercise in looking for things. So I know there will be some rearranging, well a lot of rearranging. It is interesting and fun to see how it all develops. What works and what doesn't. The Big window---I love!

blank canvas

Well moving day is Sunday!!!! Here is the blank canvas of my new studio space. This is the best time, before all of the mess of materials I have saved over time take over. I am looking forward to see what it becomes.

First Post

Welcome to my blog. This is something new for me, but I hope it is a way to keep track of this fast paced path, and a way for family and friends, and patrons to see the process, the inspirations, travels, and a few details.

I am packing the studio for a new adventure. After almost 2 years at this location it is time to move to a space that I hope will promote more creativity, meet more artist, and be a place to settle in for some time.
